Sunsets and geese

I am glad you are here, March.

I love the changing of seasons.

Each season brings different colors to the sky

and our habits change with the temperature and the

day length.  The birds are moving north and it is still cold...but the days are a bit longer.

I am so thankful for my life...and yesterday afternoon was one of those moments.

It started out to be just the usual sunset stroll with the two labradors.

They were both begging to go out.  They can hear the birds calling and sense that the wildlife is moving around..

I took a ton of photos.

These were the best.

I love to see birds flying with sunset sky behind them and it is incredibly hard for me

to be at the right place at the right time.  I just keep trying.

Look! at the colors.  Love it.

I am always inspired by the mating and pairing of geese.

They flock together but so often you see a pair flying or walking or feeding.

There were awesome colors on the ice this evening.

Another pair.  So cool.

Today the dogs were the reason
I enjoyed a spectacular view.  It would have been better
photo opportunities without them, but there would have been no
photo opportunity had there not been two labs giving me that long
"outside..now! stare.

Stumps, sunsets, and dogs

What did they say? What are they doing? Tell me! Tell me!
Why didn't you bring one?

Interesting stump.

I am addicted to photographing clouds.
 Our not so little baby.

Sunset.

A morning's work

I've been putting it off and putting it off.  Believe it or not the weather has been just too hot for me in these last few March Days.  I spent the morning cleaning out the raised beds and transplanting my new babies.  They look so sad now..but they will perk up in the next few days...and be ready to eat in no time at all.

My dogs were bored...

Caesar dug a home for  me

Koko just wanted to know if I was done yet...I guess.

But no.. I am not done yet.

All Work and No play makes Millie ?

It wasn't all work this weekend.
I was pulling weeds and admiring my beautiful Blue Coco bean vines...
When I saw it!
A dragonfly clinging so perfectly to the vine!
I had to get the camera and try for a picture.
I knew..I knew... I was once again..unprepared and Too Late.
Sigh.
No dragonfly.
They often have a flying routine and return.
I was hoping.
But no...not this dragonfly.

I settled for a picture of this Koko.
She's waiting patiently.
If she waits patiently her master will come play.
We do play.
Everyday.
Sometimes we just throw the ball.
Sometimes we go down to the ponds.
Lately she has gotten to go..just be with us...
When we unload hay...
Pick berries...both red and blue.
She's learning that all work doesn't have to be No play.
With us, she's learning that our particular work is our play.
We admire the growing plants.
We see the wild things and it touches our hearts.
We love making spaces for beautiful things to grow.
And while we grow our things we do stop and we do play.
Sometimes just for a few moments.
Very special moments that makes our hearts sing.

Dogs and dogwoods

This area is one of the latest alterations to my landscape.  I love looking at the colored twigs in the winter and watching them come to life.  The dogs are liking the fact that it hasn't been cleaned yet.  Lots of critter smells to investigate.  I have yet to weed and mulch it this year--maybe this weekend.  I used minimal mulch last year and I am paying for it.  My shoestring budget does not allow much for the landscape--actually I think landscaping falls under the health category of my life.  It keeps me healthy and happy.
